Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cold chain?
The cold chain is the set of logistical and domestic operations (transport, handling, storage) aimed at maintaining one or more food or pharmaceutical products at a given temperature in order to ensure that its healthiness or taste qualities are maintained. Depending on the product, standards set temperature limits and tolerances (0°C to +2°C for fresh fish, +0°C to +4°C for meat and charcuterie, -15°C to -18°C for frozen food. The problems of respecting the cold chain are also found in pharmaceutical products (vaccines +2°C to +8°C, blood products +2°C to +6°C for blood concentrates or +20°C to +25°C for platelets).

The interest of the term chain is to underline the importance of the continuity of the stages; no link should give way and destroy the essence of the general effort deployed to end up with a product that is preserved from any overheating.

Our products are French and manufactured in our factory in the Bordeaux region.

This is a performance simulation test or more precisely a laboratory simulation of the mechanical stresses of transport.

ISOPRO packaging has been certified by UPS EUROPE transport following ISTA 3A validation.

The ISOPRO cladding has passed the following tests :

  • Climatic preconditioning at 0 + 4°C of meat products
  • 1st drop/shock test (simulation of a parcel falling from a platform or a truck)
  • Random vibrations with 70 kg compression loads (simulation of the stresses experienced by the package in the truck during pick-up)
  • 2nd drop/impact test (simulating a fall from a platform or a truck
  • Random vibrations without compression load (simulation of the stresses experienced by the package during its “last mile” transport)

The AFNOR NF S 99-700 standard has been drawn up for the transport of pharmaceutical products in isothermal packaging in static cold.

It determines the test methodologies for the thermal validation of such packaging.

It provides temperature profiles to be respected according to seasons and durations.

Are you concerned with sustainable development?

Most of our packaging is already reusable and recyclable through energy recovery.

Some of our products, such as ISOPRO, are manufactured using solar energy and rainwater harvesting and incorporate up to 10% recycled material.

Our gel sachets are registered with the Poison Control Centre and classified as non-toxic.

They are therefore without any risk for humans or animals in case of contact or ingestion.
